Crafted Connections: Gifting for MicroStrategy at Four Seasons Punta Mita

At Meraki Objects, we believe that the art of gifting is more than just a gesture, it’s a way to connect people to place, culture, and story. This past May, we had the honor of designing a complete gifting journey for MicroStrategy’s group of 250 guests during their unforgettable retreat at Four Seasons Punta Mita.

From the moment their feet touched the sand, each touchpoint was curated with intention and heart.

✨ Welcome with Color and Tradition

Upon arrival, each guest was welcomed with a handwoven plastic bag in a vibrant array of colors, crafted by skilled artisans in Puerto Vallarta. Attached to every bag was a cascading pom-pom, meticulously handmade by a collective of artisan women in Chiapas. The gifts were not only functional but symbolic, offering a warm embrace of Mexican craftsmanship and heritage.

🌅 Market Night on Cuevas Beach

For their welcome dinner experience on Cuevas Beach, we brought the essence of a traditional Mexican mercado to life. Against the backdrop of a breathtaking sunset and accompanied by festive décor, live music (a blend of folkloric and modern tunes), and handcrafted cocktails, guests explored ten immersive market stations, including:

  1. Mexican Souvenirs

  2. Pewter Pieces

  3. Kids’ Station

  4. Handbags & Totes

  5. Hats & Sombreros

  6. Blankets & Textiles

  7. Black Clay (Barro Negro) & Talavera Ceramics

  8. Huichol Art

  9. Striped Beach Essentials

  10. Otomi Craft Corner

Each space invited exploration, discovery, and personal connection with the vibrant art and symbolism of Mexican culture.

🌸 The Otomi Gifting Experience

A second round of gifting featured the colorful and symbolic art of Otomi embroidery. Guests received fabric hand fans adorned with vibrant Otomi-inspired patterns—each uniquely designed and personalized with the company logo. Alongside the fans, we included textile pouches showcasing the same iconic Otomi motifs, inspired by the heritage of the Otomi people from central Mexico. The playful, multicolored designs pay homage to their rich storytelling through flora, fauna, and ancient symbolism.

🖤 Mezcal, Chocolate & Black Clay Magic

Another memorable gift combined modern branding with artisanal soul. Inside a custom-branded woodpaper box, guests discovered:

  1. Two mezcalero cups shaped like expressive faces, handmade from Oaxacan black clay (barro negro)

  2. A bar of authentic Mexican chocolate from the Aranda brand

  3. A hand-painted 750 ml bottle of mezcal, created by Mexican artists and personalized with the name of the group

  4. A mezcal cocktail recipe book to bring the flavor home

This thoughtful combination offered a taste of Mexico’s most beloved traditions, flavor, art, and ancestral spirit.

💛 A Farewell from the Heart

To close the experience, each guest received a farewell gift box handcrafted from dried palm leaves, made in Guerrero. Nestled inside with crinkle paper was a 15 cm barro negro heart with a delicately sculpted calapa lid, crafted in San Bartolo Coyotepec, Oaxaca, by two artisan families. Each piece was created exclusively for the group, with custom molds and a detailed creation process that honored the ancient traditions of black clay work.

As a centerpiece, inside each heart lay a striking Huichol beadwork sculpture of a Bitcoin symbol, handcrafted by Wixarika artists from Nayarit. Each 9 cm piece was made of plaster and decorated bead by bead using bee wax a meticulous process resulting in vibrant, one-of-a-kind works in pastel tones and traditional Mexican hues. 120 unique pieces were created to honor the group’s spirit of innovation and connection.

Every element of this week-long journey reflected our passion for meaningful details, our deep collaboration with artisans, and our commitment to turning every gifting moment into a story worth remembering.

We’re incredibly grateful to MicroStrategy and the team at Four Seasons Punta Mita for allowing us to co-create this unforgettable experience, one filled with color, culture, and heart.
